Some people in the Shannonside region are spending the equivalent of 100 working days a year travelling to work.
That's according to Sinn Fein TD for Longford-Westmeath, Sorca Clarke.
The Labour Party is calling for workers to have the legal right to work remotely - not just the right to request it, as they do at the moment.

Her party colleague, Sligo-Leitrim TD Martin Kenny, also backs the bill - he says remote working has many benefits:
But Employment Minister Peter Burke says the government opposes Labour's bill.
