The Minister for Housing and Local Government is in Longford today for the opening of the town's Public Realm Enhancement Project.
The initiative saw significant works on the public realm at Market Square, Grafton Court and The Shopping Centre.
The developments were designed to enhance the pedestrian experience with new path treatments, street furniture and lighting.

The works on the Square have resulted in criticisms from several local businesses along with members of the public over issues including a loss of on street parking.
Minister Darragh O'Brien will open the project in the town later today.
