A local Senator says a new raft of Government measures will be announced this evening aimed at tackling the fuel crisis.
Robbie Gallagher's comments come ahead of a meeting between Ministers and representative organisations this afternoon.
This is the fourth day of fuel price protests with blockades leading to a shortage of supply across the country.
The Fianna Fáil Senator from Monaghan says there remains confusion over who speaks for the protestors.
