The development of a minor injury unit in Longford is a possibility, but it won't happen in the imminent future.
That's according to local senator Joe Flaherty, who welcomed the news of the potential development.
Earlier this week, Fine Gael TD Micheál Carrigy met with Tánaiste Simon Harris alongside his Longford party colleagues to discuss issues pertaining to the county.
The topic of a minor injury unit was also brought up, which received a positive reaction from the Tánaiste.
