County Roscommon has been upgraded to a status orange wind warning.
The warning will be in effect until 10pm tonight.
Met Éireann is warning of near gale force to gale force and very gusty southwest to west winds.

The forecaster says this may lead to fallen trees, damage to power lines and possible power outages and very difficult travelling conditions
A seperate status yellow warning for wind is currently in place for Longford.
The warning took effect at 12 noon and will remain in place until midnight tonight.
