A former Fianna Fáil TD claims Roscommon town is in danger of becoming the next Ballaghaderreen, when it comes to refugees.
It comes as planners consider whether to allow a Goff Street building become an asylum centre.
Eugene Murphy said Ballaghaderreen in the west of the county has struggled to cope with an influx of people in recent years.
He called on applicant Noel Whelan to make his plans known to the public for the Goff Street building.
