Roscommon records 117 cases of Covid-19 in first two weeks of July

The news comes as 994 cases of Covid-19 were announced nationally yesterday.

Roscommon presently has the ninth highest incidence rate of Covid in the country with 58 cases confirmed in the county over the past week.

According to the latest data from the health Protection Surveillance Centre between July 7th and July 13th the incidence rate in the county is increasing.

A total of 117 new cases were confirmed in the fortnight between June 30th and July 13th giving it a 14 day incidence rate of 181 per 100,000 population.

Leitrim recorded 24 new cases over the past week, and Longford had 13, while Westmeath had 62, and Sligo 68.

Meanwhile the latest Covid-19 Daily Operations Update shows there are four confirmed Covid-19 cases at Sligo University Hospital, and one suspected, with one person being treated for the condition in the ICU there.

There are also two suspected cases at Portiuncula and Galway University Hospitals.
