A Roscommon priest, based in the US for the past 66 years, says he's thrilled with the appointment of the new Pope.
Pope Leo The 14th became the first ever US pontiff last Thursday.
Monsignor Kevin Flanagan is from Kilglass in Co Roscommon but has been based in the US since his ordination in 1959.
He's based in Paterson, New Jersey, and gave his reaction to the Pope's appointment:
