A Roscommon postman will be doing his rounds with a difference this Friday in order to raise money for local cancer services in the Shannonside region.

Strokestown native and county Councillor Joe Murphy is hosting a 'Hop on for Hospice' fundraiser this week, in order to raise money for the Mayo-Roscommon hospice group.

He has been in training for the last number of weeks, and he hopes to be able to cover his estimated 80km route in matter of hours - depending on how many letters he may have to deliver.
