The Chairman of Roscommon IFA says events such as ploughing championships are more important than ever following a difficult winter for the agricultural sector. Sean Finan was speaking at the launch of the Roscommon Ploughing Championships in Fuerty last night.
This year's event takes place on Sunday, May 3rd and follows weeks of protest by farmers, contractors and hauliers over rising fuel costs. Ballinlough native Finan says agricultural events will help bring farmers and consumers closer together:
