An athlete from Ballymoe on the Roscommon Galway border will be making her second appearance at the Paralympics in Paris. Richael Timothy, a former Roscommon Ladies footballer, will be competing in a number of cycling events over the coming days. She's gearing up for her first race tomorrow on the track and says the nerves are beginning to kick in.
The cyclist is expecting a larger level of support in Paris following her appearance in Tokyo in 2021. Speaking to Shannonside News, she says she's hoping to set a few personal best times at this year's games:
