A motorist in Roscommon is facing a hefty fine and court date following a drug driving stop this week.
Members of the Roscommon Roads Policing Unit carried out a checkpoint in Strokestown on the N5 yesterday.
While screening motorists, one driver tested positive for cannabis and methamphetamines in a roadside oral fluid test.
The car was also untaxed, uninsured and did not have a valid NCT.
The driver was arrested and their car was seized, with a court date to follow in the coming months.
