Roscommon man forgives Judge over Covid law prosecution

A local couple were fined for their breach of travel restrictions during lock down last year.

A Roscommon man who's been fined for breaking Covid restrictions says he forgives the judge and Gardai for prosecuting him.

Jim and Ann Ryan travelled 70km to attend Palm Sunday Mass in Co Cavan last year, which was in breach of the 5km travel limit in place at the time.

He believes it was his right to attend the religious worship and says the authorities failed to uphold the constitution.

The Donamon native says he's not willing to pay the 300 euro fine imposed on him and is appealing the court decision.

Speaking on The Joe Finnegan Show Mr Ryan says he forgives the judge and will go to jail if they can't get it overturned:
