Roscommon would be an ideal location for data storage providers due to the county’s vast water resources.
That’s according to Independent councillor Micheál Frain, who called on the IDA to explore the possibility at this month’s meeting of Roscommon County Council.
Cllr Frain said the relocation of data storage providers would attract large tech companies to Roscommon.

He says such facilities were a drain on the electricity grid, but Roscommon’s water resources could alleviate the problem.
