A Roscommon GP is appealing to young people not to be foolish when it comes to this pandemic.

Hugh O'Donnell is a General Practitioner in Strokestown.

His comments come after seven new cases were reported in County Roscommon last night, bringing the overall total to 430.

It's a sharp a continuing increase in the 14 day incidence rate for the county of 123 per cent.

The comments also follow the emergence of footage of large crowds of young people gathering in Galway city overnight.

Dr O'Donnell says many people are doing their best to abide but everyone needs to follow the public health advice
