Gardaí in Roscommon are advising homeowners to be wary of bogus callers. It follows reports of suspicious activity in the north of the county over the weekend. Two people were reported to be calling to houses on Saturday claiming their vehicle had broken down.
They then asked residents for cash and a lift to a neighbouring nearby town. Sergeant Damien Bartley says it's important to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity to Gardaí:
