A local councillor has called for further traffic calming measures to be implemented in the Roscommon village of Cloontuskert.
Cllr Larry Brennan raised the motion ahead of this morning's meeting of Roscommon Municipal District.
In response, the local authority said there were currently road markings and electronic speed signs on the R371 through the village.
It said it would look at existing traffic calming measures and seek to refresh road markings and clean signage where necessary.
Cllr Brennan, who's Cathaoirleach of the Municipal District, says this wasn't enough:
This morning's meeting heard calls from Cllr Nigel Dineen for the installation of ramps and pedestrian crossing points similar to the layout at Knockcroghery in south Roscommon.
