A local councillor has accused protestors against Strokestown's public realm works of using 'scare tactics' in the run-up to local elections.
Independent councillor Tom Crosby, who won re-election to Roscommon County Council last weekend, says elderly residents were told the town would lose 90% of its parking spaces. Cllr Crosby, however, said plans for the public realm enhancement show structured parking for 279 spaces on Bawn Street and Church Street. He said this was substantially more spaces than what is there currently and described the project as a 'game-changer' for the town.
