Roscommon County Council says it will take offenders to court if they don't pay fines for littering.
The local authority got 570 littering complaints last year - up nearly a quarter on 2023.
It has signed off a three-year litter management plan, which includes more use of CCTV.
€150 fines will be issued for those caught littering - which could increase to €4,000 in court.
