Roscommon council paid back €1.1m in Storm Éowyn costs

Over €1.1 million was spent by the local authority following the freak weather event last January.

Roscommon County Council has been fully recompensed for clearing up the damage caused by Storm Éowyn.

Over €1.1 million was spent by the local authority following the freak weather event last January.

Councillors previously expressed frustration at the annual budget meeting that no money was forthcoming.

However, this week's meeting of the Roscommon Municipal District heard the money has returned to the county.
