Roscommon company gets green light for new large factory

The company employs over 60 people.

Planning permission has been given for a Roscommon based firm to significantly expand their operations.

Plastic moulding company Cubis had applied to Roscommon County Council for approval for a new 750 metre-squared manufacturing unit in the IDA Business and Technology park at the Racecourse Road in the town last August.

In their application they claim a new piece of machinery which will be located in the development will help increase capacity at the company by up to 40%

The  global firm  currently employs over 60 people  at its Roscommon site and the local authority  granted permission subject to 10 conditions, including monitoring noise levels on a monthly basis for six months after construction is completed and the factory should not generate noise that may be considered a nuisance.

The firm will also be required to pay a development fee of over €15,000 to the Council prior to any work beginning.
