The Cathaoirleach of Roscommon County County has paid tributes those who passed away on the N5.
A 7 kilometre stretch of the new road, bypassing Frenchpark and Sheepwalk was opened earlier by Transport Minister Darragh O'Brien.
It's part of the wider 34-kilometre project which will also bypass Ballinagare, Tulsk and Strokestown.
Local Fine Gael Cllr Liam Callaghan is hopeful of a earlier than scheduled opening for that section:
