Revenue officers have seized contraband worth more than one hundred and thirty-five thousand euro in a series of operations, which included the Midlands over the past week.
The intelligence-led operations, which began on the sixteenth of February, resulted in the seizure of four-point-seven kilograms of herbal cannabis valued at more than ninety-four thousand euro.
Officers also uncovered one thousand, six hundred and ninety-eight assorted tablets with an estimated value of four thousand euro, as well as other illicit drugs worth more than six thousand euro.
In addition, tobacco products valued at over nine thousand euro were seized, representing a potential loss to the Exchequer of more than seven thousand euro.
More than eighty-four litres of alcohol were also confiscated, with an estimated value of nearly fifteen hundred euro and a potential tax loss of over nine hundred euro.
Investigations into all of the seizures are ongoing.
