It's feared that the Government's failure to reinstate the 9 per cent VAT rate for the hospitality sector will have detrimental effects in the Shannonside region. Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe previously said the full year cost of implementing the rate would be up to a billion euro. It's reported that the coalition is now considering not implementing the measure until the middle of next year to reduce the immediate cost.
