Researchers at a local university have raised concerns about the impact televised lottery draws can have on children.
The team is calling for the draws to take place after 9pm.
Dr Frank Houghton, a researcher from the Technological University of the Shannon and a group of academics analysed over 200 televised draws from 2023 to 2024, and they found that they are aired during or immediately following child-friendly films and shows.
