Public urged to heed coroner's road safety message

A local Senator is urging the public to heed the Roscommon coroner's road-safety advice - after he warned about the danger of drink-driving, cocaine use and not wearing a seat-belt. Brian O'Connor spoke out strongly yesterday at an inquest into two people who died in a single-vehicle crash in Ballaghaderreen two years ago. The driver was almost three times over the legal drink-driving limit.

A back-seat passenger had cocaine in his system and wasn't wearing a seatbelt. Both lost their lives, and Senator Eugene Murphy is expressing his sympathy to their families. He is also backing the coroner's comments:
