Proposed Active Travel project to increase safety at Ballyforan NS

The project seeks to improve pedestrian infrastructure across the village of Ballyforan, including new signage and road markings to define a School Zone at Ballyforan National School.

Proposed Active Travel safety measures will enhance safety and visibility at a Co. Roscommon school.
The project seeks to improve pedestrian infrastructure across the village of Ballyforan, including new signage and road markings to define a School Zone at Ballyforan National School.

The proposal will enhance safety and visibility at the school, while junctions will be tightened and new zebra and pedestrian crossings established at the entrance of the nearby Claremont housing estate.
Submissions for the project are open until March 20th.
Local councillor Emer Kelly says safety measures around the school are badly needed:
