A county Longford centre for people with disabilities has received a largely positive report from the health watchdog. An announced inspection of Kilshrewley Gardens was carried out in June, the details of which have been published this week. Kilshrewley Gardens can support up to three people with intellectual disabilities and/or Autism aged 18 and over.
The inspector had the opportunity to speak briefly with two residents. Both communicated that they were happy and that staff were nice. Each resident had their own bedroom and they were decorated as per each of their preferences. There were sufficient staff available, with the required skills to meet the assessed needs of residents. While suitable risk management, and fire safety management systems were in place.
