The Emergency Department at Portiuncula University Hospital is extremely busy heading into the weekend.
There is pressure on bed availability in the hospital with 13 patients on trollies.
Management are asking anyone attending the Emergency Department to instead contact their GP if their health problem is not urgent.

Alternatively, locals can attend the Injury Unit at Roscommon University Hospital which is open from 8am to 8pm every day.
