A local councillor has called on the Government to reinstate funding for the refurbishment of Rooskey Bridge.
Cllr Tom Crosby claims the project was fully funded with an allocation of €1.4 million before it was shelved prior to the 2009 local elections.
He urged the local authority to request that the Ministers for Finance and Environment and the Taoiseach Micháel Martin revive plans for the bridge’s refurbishment.
The Tarmonbarry councillor accused the local authority of 'political skulduggery' 16 years ago.
Speaking following Monday's council meeting, he told Dan Dooner the controversial bridge was holding Rooskey back:
Well-known Rooskey man Andrew Reynolds has been giving Eoghan Murphy his thoughts on the bridge.
