The chairman of the Citizens Assembly on Drug Use says illegal substances are prevalent throughout the Shannonside region.
Up to 100 people attended Paul Reid’s talk on drugs in Cortober, Carrick-on-Shannon, last night.
He explained how the assembly recommended drugs for personal use be decriminalised – but this has yet to be implemented.
The former head of the HSE, who lives in Carrick, says drugs are very widespread, as he told our reporter Eoghan Murphy:
