A planning application will be lodged next year to turn the former Ballinamore courthouse into a community building. It closed as a courthouse around 15 years ago and is in poor condition. A feasibility study recently examined how it could be used for the community - potentially including a 'John McGahern cultural experience'.
Leitrim County Council sought tenders for the courthouse overhaul in October. And chief executive Joseph Gilhooly says the plans will progress further next year:
