Residents in Ballinagare and nearby communities in Co Roscommon are being encouraged to take part in a public consultation about a proposed renewable energy development planned for the area.
Carrigeen Power Limited is proposing to build around 11 wind turbines and associated underground grid infrastructure across several townlands - including Cloonshanville and Kinclare.
The company says the project will involve underground cabling running along the public road network and connecting to the existing Flagford Substation, helping to feed clean, locally generated power into the national grid.
To give people an opportunity to learn more and share their views, the company is hosting a Public Information Exhibition at the Ballinagare Health and Leisure Centre on Thursday, November sixth, from four-thirty to eight o'clock in the evening.
Project representatives will be on hand to explain the details, answer questions, and discuss potential environmental, economic, and visual impacts of the proposed development.
Carrigeen Power Limited says the event is open to everyone, and that community engagement is an important part of the planning process before any formal planning application is lodged.
The company says it hopes the wind energy project will contribute to Ireland's renewable energy targets, reducing reliance on fossil fuels while supporting rural development in Roscommon.
