Plans have been officially lodged for a major development at a derelict building in Castlerea. Corlann, the new name for the Brothers of Charity, has lodged the plans with Roscommon County Council. They want to fully renovate Hanly Hall in Patrick Street and use it for day services, offices, and social enterprise.
They also want to build a new two-storey home and use it for community use. The council is due to decide whether to grant planning permission in early May, and local councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice welcomes the plans:
