Planning sought for new residential development in Longford

It involves the demolition of an existing derelict two-storey terraced dwelling, which would be cleared to make way for a new three-storey apartment block.

A planning application has been submitted for a new residential development in county Longford. The proposal by Adriana Navarro is located on Richmond Street in Longford Town. It involves the demolition of an existing derelict two-storey terraced dwelling, which would be cleared to make way for a new three-storey apartment block. Under the plans, the new building would provide a total of nine apartments, including six one-bedroom units and three two-bedroom homes.

The development would also include onsite car parking spaces, new boundary walls, a communal refuse storage area, bicycle storage rails and all associated site development works. If approved, the project would bring a vacant and rundown property back into use while adding new housing stock in the town centre. A decision on the application will be made by Longford County Council in mid-June.
