Planning permission is being sought for the construction of 213 new housing units in Mullingar.
The development is being sought by DSPL Ltd for the Rathgowan area of the town.
Plans would see 213 units constructed including 147 houses and 66 apartments, along with a creche.

The plans are classified as a strategic housing development and will bypass Westmeath planners, and be directly considered by An Bord Pleanala.
The higher planning body will make its decision in February of next year.
