The planning process has started for a new 50-space car park in Ballaghaderreen.
It was part of the deal between the council and traders to end a row over the public realm enhancement.
The council is spending €4.5 million on upgrading the town centre, but businesses were annoyed about the loss of 47 car-parking spaces.
