Planning approval for works at well known local hotel

A well known Athlone Hotel has been granted planning permission for a new development.

Inua Athlone General Partner Limited had applied for works at the Radisson Blu Hotel on Northgate Street in the town.

Plans for the hotel included the erection of a single storey, flat roofed external glazed function room to extend off the hotel facade.

The applicant also sought the change of use of an existing meeting room along the hotel terrace to be transformed into a coffee dock and store.

Westmeath County planners approved the plans with 3 conditions attached.
