People in Longford are being urged to reach out for help during the pandemic by the County Council

Longford County Council is appealing to people to make contact with them if they need any sort of help during this pandemic.

At a recent meeting of Granard Municipal District, Director of Services Barbara Heslin appealed to elected members on the issue.

She asked them to ensure the message was getting out there to people who are isolated, not online or in need of any sort of help to ask them to contact their local authority so they could be put in touch with relevant local support services.

Ms Heslin described the Keep Well campaign as a very important initiative that is being undertaken by government and local authorities.

Longford County Librarian Mary Carlton Reynolds said there are also supports out there for those who need help getting online:
