After a colder May, we are set for some warmer weather.

People are being urged to take care in the sun today as temperatures are set to hit the mid to late 20s.

It's expected it will be the hottest day of the year so far, with Leinster, Munster and East Ulster enjoying the best of the weather. The West of Ireland is set to be a little cooler.

Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather says it's not unseasonably warm but it comes on the back of colder conditions.
