Fashion designer Paul Costelloe has passed away at the age of 80, it was announced yesterday.

His family said in a statement he passed peacefully in London surrounded by his wife and children following a short illness.

The fashion icon was at the helm of Irish design for over 4 decades and tributes have been pouring in for the designer who became personal stylist to Princess Diana in the 80's.
