Castlerea councillor Paschal Fitzmaurice has been elected as the chairperson of Roscommon Local Community Safety Partnership.
He was chosen at their first meeting in the Abbey Hotel in Roscommon last night.
South Roscommon councillor Emer Kelly was elected as vice-chairperson.

The partnerships bring together a broader range of stake-holders than previous joint policing committees, and include local residents, HSE and gardaí.
