Parts of the EU Mercosur Agreement will come into force today.
That's despite not getting approval yet from the European Parliament.
The initiative creates a trans-Atlantic market with some nations expecting to boost their exports by more than 10% by 2038.
Ireland was one of five countries, including France, Austria, Hungary and Poland, to vote against the agreement, with concerns here about Brazilian traceability laws and the use of hormones in their beef, which have been banned in the EU.
