Over €800,000 allocated or local community groups

Over 800 thousand euro in funding has been allocated to community groups across the Shannonside to help with energy costs.

Just under €280,000 will be provided to groups in Roscommon and €276,000 in Longford under the Community Support fund.

While in leitrim, groups who applied will receieve a share of just over €265,000.

Groups are able to use the funding to carry out necessary repairs and to purchase equipment such as tables and chairs, tools and signage, laptops and printers, lawnmowers, canopies and training equipment.
