Three county Roscommon projects have been awarded funding under Fáilte Ireland's Regenerative Tourism and Placemaking Scheme.

The Irish Heritage Trust is to receive 1.2 million euro for the development of outdoor areas and trails to create an engaging and family friendly visitor experience at Strokestown Park.

Just shy of a quarter of a million euro is on the way to Ballynure Cottage for the delivery of two double bedrooms, creating a blend of modern and traditional living spaces.

While Roscommon County Council will carry out a feasibility study to develop a preliminary concept design for Termonbarry Riverside Park after receiving 95 thousand euro.

Elphin councillor Valerie Byrne says the money for Strokestown Park is very positive:
