Over 1.3 million euro is to be allocated to farmers in the Shannonside region under the Sheep Welfare Scheme.
The Minister for Agriculture, Martin Heydon confirmed the details.
Applications for the 2025 National Sheep Welfare Scheme, which is a one-year scheme, opened in March and closed for applications in May.
538 farmers are to share over 657 thousand euro in Roscommon, half a million euro is on the way to 485 Leitrim farmers.
While just over 154 thousand euro has been allocated to 142 farmers in Longford.
