Over 7.300 cars failed the NCT in the Shannonside Northern Sound region in the first two months of this year.
The statistics were made available on the official NCT website.
Just over 14,000 tests were carried out in Carrick-on-Shannon, Castlerea, Longford, Cavan and Monaghan in January and February.
Castlerea had the highest pass rate in the region at 49.13%.
That was followed by Monaghan at 47.23% and Longford at 46.99%.
Across all three centres there were 1,033 dangerous failures.
Carrick-on-Shannon recorded the highest amount of those at 245.
