Over 4,000 homes and businesses across the Shannonside region remain without power this morning following the arrival of Storm Amy.
Carrigallen is one of the worst-hit areas, with around 1,306 customers affected, along with 1,294 in Carrick-on-Shannon, 374 in Boyle, 373 in Mohill, and 258 in Arigna.
Nationally, about 87,000 customers remain without electricity.
Strong winds and heavy rain brought on overnight by the storm have led to localised flooding and damage in parts.
ESB crews are working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible and remind the public to stay clear of fallen or damaged wires.
Meanwhile, Met Éireann says conditions remain unsettled, with further showers and strong gusty winds expected today.
Motorists are urged to take extra caution, as roads may be slippery, flooded, or littered with debris.
Local Senator for Roscommon-Galway Gareth Scahill was among those impacted by the outage.
He says while lessons have been learned from Storm Éowyn, we still have a long way to go to better prepare for future storms.
