Over 400 people have been stranded on waiting lists in Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore, for over a year. 253 are waiting for their first outpatient consultation, according to the National Treatment Purchase Fund.
And 148 are waiting to have an inpatient or day-case procedure carried out. Longford councillor Peggy Nolan, from Fine Gael, says the health service is in crisis:
