Over 400 patients are waiting over 18 months for treatment at local hospitals.
The most recent report from the National Treatment Purchase Fund reveals just under 4,800 inpatients were on the waiting list as of the end of October.
A total of 4,797 are languishing on outpatient waiting lists at Sligo, Roscommon, Portiuncula and Mullingar hospitals.
As of the 30th of October, this number included 202 children.
Sligo University Hospital saw the highest number waiting with 3,017, followed by Roscommon Hospital where there were 620.
591 were recorded at Mullingar Regional Hospital and there was 569 at Portiuncula.
Overall, figures there were 103,573 patients waiting nationally with 8,202 of those children.
